Aligners

How do clear aligners work?

Clear aligners are a modern orthodontic approach that replaces metal brackets and wires with a sequence of removable, transparent plastic trays. Each tray is precision-made to fit your teeth exactly and applies gentle, controlled pressure to move specific teeth by fractions of a millimeter at a time.

The treatment begins with a digital scan of your mouth using an intra-oral scanner. That scan feeds into specialized orthodontic planning software, which maps out every movement needed, from start to finish, and generates the full series of trays in one go. You can see a simulation of your expected result before a single tray is made.

You wear each tray for approximately one to two weeks, then switch to the next one in the sequence. The movements are small and cumulative. Over the course of your treatment, typically eight to ten months for most cases, your teeth gradually shift into alignment. Check-ups allow us to monitor progress and make adjustments if needed.

Because the trays are removable, you take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. This keeps your oral hygiene straightforward throughout treatment. The digital workflow also means that if you are based in Europe, a significant part of your follow-up can be handled remotely by photo, video, and WhatsApp between visits.
