Aligners

Clear aligners or traditional braces, which should I choose?

Both clear aligners and traditional metal or ceramic braces are effective orthodontic tools, but they suit different situations and lifestyles. Understanding the key differences helps you make an informed decision.

Aligners win on discretion. The trays are virtually invisible, and most people around you will never notice you are wearing them. They are also fully removable, so you eat what you like, brush normally, and avoid the dietary restrictions that come with fixed braces. For adults in professional or social settings, this flexibility matters enormously.

Traditional braces, on the other hand, are fixed to the teeth and work around the clock without depending on the patient remembering to put them back in. For complex tooth movements, significant rotations, or cases requiring precise force control, braces can sometimes be the more reliable option. They are also the standard choice for growing teenagers when growth needs to be factored into treatment.

Aligners are well suited to mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and bite corrections in adults. They are less effective when the movements required are highly complex or when a patient's compliance cannot be relied on, since the trays must be worn twenty to twenty-two hours a day to work correctly.

At Cabinet Dentaire Dr. Imad Al Morabit, we assess each case individually and recommend the approach that will genuinely deliver the best result for you, not simply the most convenient one. If aligners are right for you, we will show you a digital simulation of the expected outcome before treatment begins.
