How long do you have to wait between getting the implant and receiving the final crown?
After the implant is placed, the bone needs time to grow around and bond to the titanium surface. This process, osseointegration, generally takes between two and six months depending on your bone density, the location in the jaw, and your overall health. The lower jaw typically heals faster than the upper jaw.
During this waiting period you do not need to stay in Morocco. We fit a temporary crown or protective cover so the area looks acceptable and is not exposed, and you return to Europe while the healing takes place. We stay in contact by WhatsApp and video call to monitor your progress remotely.
Once osseointegration is confirmed, usually through a clinical check and X-ray during a follow-up appointment, we take the final measurements and produce the permanent crown in our on-site laboratory. This step typically requires only one or two visits and can be scheduled to coincide with a planned return trip.
For patients requiring a bone graft before implant placement, the timeline extends further because the graft itself needs to heal before the implant can be placed. We map this out clearly at the planning stage so you know in advance how many trips you will need and when each one should happen.
